Tuesday, 30 August 2016SANBI is seeking to employ on a permanent basis an Artisan to be based at the Garden in Worcester.
The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires a hard-working, enthusiastic and responsible person with essential skills to be actively involved in, and supervise all construction and maintenance of building infrastructure, irrigation, gates, fences and other mechanical equipment.
The successful candidate must be in possession of a Grade 10 certificate enhanced by minimum 2 years’ relevant working experience.
It is essential that the incumbent be in possession of a valid code B driver’s license as well as trade test certificate in either building or plumbing.
Proven ability in effective and efficient planning, organising and quality evaluating of jobs according to an annual maintenance plan are essential and be able to oversee ordering and fetching of goods according to specifications prepared by him/her.
Candidates must have basic knowledge of MS Office and familiarity of working with a computer.
Sound interpersonal skills, good communication skills (verbal and written) are requirements.
A valid First Aid and Health and Safety certificate would be advantageous.
