Over the years Boston City Campus & Business College has acquired a reputation for producing many A-list student achievers. Boston have done it again with three of its students included in the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers’ Top Ten Achiever list for April 2014.
“It is a proud moment for us at Boston and on behalf of our management we congratulate Hannelie Venter from Newcastle, Cassim Saib from Stanger and Justen Arendse from Paarl for reaching the ICB Achiever List.
This is no everyday accomplishment, especially in light of the fact that they each achieved more than 93% in their assessments,” says Natalie Rabson, Marketing Manager at Boston.
“The ICB is a reputable organisation that’s recognised worldwide by top bookkeeping and accounting associations. Just being on their list can only do wonders for the futures of the three Boston students,” adds Rabson.
Hannelie Venter was assessed in Junior Bookkeeping: Bookkeeping to Trial Balance and Justin Arendse and Cassim Saib in Senior Bookkeeping: Financial Statements.
Commenting on their achievements they were all quick to praise Boston for the support, mentorship and assistance they received from Boston staff.
The Accounting Certification Programme courses offered by Boston are ideally suited to helping one achieve one of these Institute of Certified Bookkeepers accredited qualifications: National Certificate (Bookkeeping Certified Jnr Bookkeeper); Further Education & Training Certificate (Bookkeeping Certified Snr Bookkeeper); National Diploma: Technical Financial Accounting (Certified Technical Financial Accountant) and National Diploma: Financial Accounting (Certified Financial Accountant).
According to the ICB, all the above qualifications have been developed in line with South African Qualification requirements with outcomes being based on international accounting standards, thus ensuring they are relevant to the South African market and business needs.
The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers has been around since 1931. Its role is to improve and maintain the quality, credibility and reputation of bookkeeping, accounting, office administration and financial management training and qualifications in Southern Africa.
As a Quality Assurance Partner (QAP) of the Sector Education and Training Authority for Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and other Financial Services (FASSET), the ICB is an external assessment (examining) body for many of the business qualifications that FASSET awards.
