TrainingIndustry.com has announced its Top 20 Workforce Development Companies List, as part of its mission to continually monitor the training marketplace for the best providers of training services and technologies.
Selection to this year’s Top 20 Workforce Development Companies List was based on the following criteria:• Industry visibility, innovation and impact
• Capability to develop and deliver customized corporate training services
• Company size and growth potential
• Depth and breadth of subject matter expertise
• Organization size and growth potential
• Quality of clients
• Geographic reach
“Workforce development continues to be a key focus for corporations in many markets globally.” said Ken Taylor, Training Industry’s Chief Operating Officer.
“We saw growth in companies providing services in geographies outside of their HQ locations.”
“The 2014 Top 20 Workforce Development providers include some of the strongest companies in the industry,” said Doug Harward, Chief Executive Officer, Training Industry, Inc. “These companies provide the broadest portfolio of services with a particular focus on consulting and curriculum development.”
Why CTU won this award
Through our engagement with leading companies such as Microsoft, CTU is able to offer opportunities to previously disadvantaged students and unemployed graduates.
According to the South African National Scarce and Critical Skills list of 2013, the need for skilled IT professionals continues to grow.
After a successful training intervention with MICT SETA and Microsoft through the development of an FET college in Mthatha, CTU and Microsoft planned to give skills to today’s students for tomorrow through a Microsoft Funded Learning Programme where 303 previously disadvantaged students and unemployed graduates were added to the CTU full time (1 year) programme with the purpose of developing the workforce in South Africa.
Microsoft international MCSA, MCSE and MCSD exams were completed and 284 students are successfully graduating in 2014 with a national qualification (NQF 4-6) and international certification.
Our workplace experience programme enables learners to become familiar with corporate/working environments hosted by participating corporate clients.
This gives our corporate clients a superior selection of qualified and certified individuals, whom they could possibly employ or place on a learnership to further develop the student on a higher NQF level.
CTU manages this entire development portfolio through the guidance of our empowerment model, from building qualifications aligned to international vendor certifications to reporting and providing after sales services.
