The IT Industry in South Africa offers many different possibilities. IT includes industries such as telecommunications, computer hardware, manufacturing, software development, IT support and consulting.
IT professionals earn higher salaries than most other professions. As technology progresses, there is an increasing demand for IT skills.
Other advantages are that there are few barriers to entry. IT training is generally short term, as there are no specific degree requirements.
Absa Group Technology has introduced a one year learnership programme for university graduates. This programme is open to South African graduates and focuses on preparing them for a career in the IT industry.
If you’re young and talented and have strong IT credentials, then you have the opportunity to apply for this learnership programme.
To apply you:
• Must have successfully completed an IT-related degree
• Must have successfully completed a degree in Finance or Accounting
• Must be under 27 years of age (as at 1st January, 2010)
• Must be seeking employment in the IT industry
If you have not received feedback by 31 July 2010, consider the application unsuccessful. In line with Absa's Employment Equity Policy, preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates.
